Sergey Shmelev

Sergey Shmelev was bor on February 25, 1963. He graduated from Penza Art College in 1982 and from Tambov State University in 1996.

Artist's creative activity has been started in 2002 by the opening of his solo exhibition in Morshansk Historical and Art Museum.

Sergey Shmelev is a member of regional art exhibitions in 2004, 2006, 2007, that took place in the Tambov Regional Art Gallery. His paintings describe a daily life according to the traditions of Russian realistic school.

Shmelev works in the genre of still life and landscape and draws from nature. Since 1989 S. Shmelev has been teaching the academic drawing, painting and composition in the Morshansk children's art school.

The artist is a member of URA (Union of Russian Artists) since 2008.
